MetMo How To Whetstone

How to use the MetMo Whetstone

Has your Edge lost its edge? No problem. The MetMo whetstone can be used to restore the tip or shape it to suit the job at hand.

You can remove the blade from the Edge to sharpen it, or you can hold the thumb slider down.

Place the whetstone on a flat, stable surface, then rest the Edge blade against the stone at the angle you would like the finished flat to follow.

Move the blade smoothly across the whetstone using light, controlled pressure. Rotate the Edge/blade slightly between each pass so that material is removed evenly from every side. This helps keep the edge straight, centred and symmetrical.

Check your progress regularly; a few careful strokes are better than removing too much material at once. As the desired edge begins to form, reduce the pressure and use lighter finishing strokes.

Once sharpened, wipe away any metal residue and test the Edge on a scrap piece of material.

Safety note: The finished Edge will be sharp. Keep your fingers away from the point and always work away from your body.
