1 xMetMo Multi Drive Stubster

The Stubster
A shorter handle MultiDrive that lets you get into tight spaces, this palm-sized miniature has all the same features of the longer handle but around half the length of its bigger brother.

Ultimate Control. A Cut Above The Rest.
The Stubster handle gives more control when working in detail, positioning you closer to the working tip, ideal for fine scalpel work or intricate filling.

A Classic Tool Reinvented For The Modern Era
A new kind of multi-tool, inspired by engineers' marking out tools, Multi Drive uses precision engineering to create a versatile, hardwearing and useful tool that's in its element in the office, shed, or workshop.
Built like tools from a bygone era to be useful in many situations and engineered to last generations.

A Powerful Tool And The Perfect Desk Companion
Is that a workshop in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? Carry a small arsenal of capable tools in your pocket. The slimline and modular design of each part lets you carry the workshop classics wherever you go, so you can set up and start creating anywhere.

The One To Rule Them All
A single handle you can use over and over, on whatever you're working on. More than a multi-tool, this is a versatile collet driver unlike anything else. When you carry a Multi Drive, you're carrying 6 tools in one. Carry less, do more.

A Stubby Screwdriver.
Just like the stubby screwdrivers in woodworking, but for micro screws, allowing you to get into difficult spaces.
Let’s face it, that last screw is always going to be somewhere really difficult and flexible shafts for micro screwdrivers are not as helpful as they should be… so with a stubby handle you can get onto your screw, do the job, and get back to whittling your wooden statue of Ron Swanson.

Pocket Sized.
It doesn’t get much more portable than this! Ikea and mini golf may have cornered the market in tiny pencils but why not impress someone by instead of pulling out a stubby wooden disappointment, you whip out a stainless steel masterpiece!

Lightweight.
A powerful little addition to an everyday carry at just 5.5oz (15.7g) in aluminium, you won’t even notice this little fella is even there.

Holds 4mm Bits.
Stubster holds all the same bits as the full-size version and uses the same collet holding system so you can easily interchange between whatever you need or leave your Stubster set up for specific jobs, letting you get on with your task.

Drill Action.
Palm-size drilling action. When else do you get to say that? The Stubster makes working on tight and delicate projects much easier, manoeuvring over and around what you are working on. It's short enough so you can control it fully and still use both hands to support what you're working on.

Just Satisfyingly Cute.
Some things are just satisfying to hold and use and The Stubster definitely falls into that category. Just have it on your desk, hold it all day and let its satisfaction run through you.

Tucked Away.
No desk is too small for the mighty Stubster! Sized so that it will discretely tuck away anywhere and not get in the way but give a full array of functionality when you need it.
Like the Swiss Army Knife of the desk but still a serious tool!

Why Have You Made This?
Why, I hear you ask?! Always a good question throughout the campaign is 'can we have a shorter handle?' for both the portability and ability to get into a tight space.
It was something we had half developed prior to the campaign so we just finished it up and, after the feedback we had, the end result was just too much fun not to make. This endearing little fella was an instant hit with the team so we thought why not let all you guys have the opportunity to own your own.

What’s It Made Of?
Built to last over 100 years, The Stubster is made from the same over-engineered metals and machining practices as its bigger brother. Does it need to be able to withstand an aircraft landing? Probably not, but if you ever find yourself needing to replace a piece of airframe and you have this in your pocket, you will be an instant hero.

Where’s he live, Jim?
Worried about where the Stubster is going to sit in the set? Fear not, for it’s small enough to pop into the top compartment of the leather case keeping everything together. Alternatively, it could go in an envelope to 'keep it secret, keep it safe.'

Built To Last A Lifetime
Like all things MetMo, Multi Drive is made to last generations using some serious metal that will take more punishment than any pencil or driver ever should. A mechanism that has been around for over two centuries combined with an unrelenting drive for superior materials selection means that no other mechanical pencil or micro driver is built quite like this. Designed to last like the tools of old, future proofed and backwards compatible, it’s not going to let you or future generations down when you need it.
So, What's The Deal, Why Does It Cost £84?
Here at MetMo we are not your usual 'buy it cheap, sell it high' kind of company. We think 'what would make this truly great?' then uncompromisingly work towards that goal. This pursuit means we take a totally different route to make products.
But what does that mean? Well that means we machine every part on state of the art CNC machines, normally used for slow precision engineering, not designed for mass manufacture. It means that we use the best materials and surface finishes we can find and not the cheapest and fastest to make, and this all costs more to do.
We do all this to make sure we are making products the way our forefathers used to, totally over engineered to last generations, because they would not be happy with something that broke after a few years and neither are we!
Making of the Driver Prototype
Sit back, relax, and enjoy this video of the making of the MetMo Multi Drive prototype from scratch with our master metal worker, Geoff.
We go through every milling, drilling, turning, broaching and tapping process to make a Multi Drive from raw billets of metal, so you can see the amount of work involved in making each Multi Drive. Although this one off was made by hand using manual machinery, the production ones will use industrial CNC machinery.
